The 1 Rupee which makes him poor

"Aunty... Aunty... please..." pleaded the boy at the lady walking out of the Temple. Reaching her scooter, parked on the other side of the road, she opened the storage box, then her purse, took a rupee coin and gave it to that small boy, who is not even 10 years old.

The other corner of the road is where the kid's mother and grand-mother were sitting, with another kid, probably his kin.

What do you see this as? Charity OR Guilty

the scene narrated

BLUNDER because, we (offerers) are unknowingly teaching the kid
-- to Beg
-- to be Lazy

TERRIFIC BLUNDER because, we are unknowingly NOT making him know the VALUE OF LIFE & MONEY

What happened after that,

I stopped that lady, and said, "Please don't give him this money. If you want, give him some Biscuit or Foods, that you may have. Or tell him not the Beg."

You may tell me, the need of that hour for that Kid is Money. But, it did not look like that to me, when I saw his easy looking parents not even watching what he is doing.

Am I wrong?

Passion series 7 - The Joy of Giving

Was crossing the school meant for special kids (we call them, God's own Children), and stopped-by only to see this - a little young lad about 10 years lying in an auto-rickshaw, hands and legs still shivering, jerking and foam from his mouth.

Pinned on the map where the school is located
Yes, it is epileptic fits.

Speechless for a second, and controlling the anxiety, I asked the 4 or 5 men around,

"Can we take him to the hospital?"

He pointed me to the kid's auto driver, who was actually trying to reach his mother on her phone, to know what to do.

I reached up to him and asked,

"Can we take him to the hospital???... ... ... May be she can join us there", worrying about the emergency.

I am unknown, still he said "Yes", and we started to NIMHANS (Government group of hospitals) where the driver knew that the kid was treated. We reached the hospital's emergency ward, and in the next 15 minutes, Akshay's (got to know his name) mother too joined us in the hospital.

Finishing the formalities, a Doctor examined Akshay and was irritated just to know that he was not given medicines for the last 6 months and hence this emergency.

The irate Doctor turned on his mother, and asked furiously "Don't you need your son...? How can you stop the medicines...?"

The embarrassed mother can only weep, and had no answer. Later I understood that it is the COST OF THE MEDICINES that is the reason. She needed 1,100 rupees a month just for medicines.

How can a mother, who is a maid, can afford this? And moreover her husband fled away for reasons...

What else is PITY, if this is not?

Now, what does Gemspiration's 'Passion Series' got to do with this incident?

The Joy of giving - Yes, I had decided that I should buy these medicines for Akshay, a small service that I could (doing this for the past 2 years now).

And every time, I buy and give them the medicines, the heart feels lite, so lite that peace and happiness fills the mind that you are helping, and saving someone.

Rightly said, the JOY OF GIVING can only be felt, cannot be bought.

There are a lot more Akshay's suffering from a lot more problems. Let us try and give what we can.

Let mankind flourish :)

Passion series 6 - retired Indian Army Brave Heart saved 137 Crore property

It could have made headlines if this property of State Bank of Patiala was damaged, like how the only McDonald's in Rohtak was recently burnt during Jat agitations.

But Hawa Singh Yadav, the retired Nayak from Indian Army made a difference. This one man stood brave and fired shots from his double barrel gun to keep the ATM and the bank away from the 500 men mob who were trying to enter the bank.

(
-- What does this mob has to do with the Bank - while fighting for reservations / rights?
-- How does 'fighting for rights' relates to destroying properties?
 Does anyone have answers?
Let's continue...
)

Burning tyres, throwing chilli powders hasn't distracted or moved Yadav from standing tall and saving the bank. The drama continued for sometime until the 500 strong men count dropped to 50, but still were determined to mess up.

Yadav is already hurt, and called out for help from Police and relatives. It seems the reply from the police was 'Why risk to save one, putting others in danger?'.

(
Do you (reader's) agree to this?
What if the troops of Siachin thought if that endangers them on their way to save the sunken heroes?
)

Finally the tricks of Yadav's cousin saved him from the mob. Read how here.

Whatever said, the saddest of the incident is that, no officials have turned up until now for the help of Yadav. It's more than 2 weeks now (incident happened on 20-Feb) and still he is waiting for the appreciations and help (though, our heart says, he may have not done it for work and not just for appreciations).

Yadav is treated in a hospital in Gurgoan now.

Dear Sir Yadav, Brave heart! Gemspirations respects you Sir.

Editorial series 1 - like what the President said 'Real Dirt is in the minds'

This may be a 2 month old speech by the Honorable President of India, Sir Pranab Mukherjee, but has an evergreen effect. Not really a fresh anecdote that is said for the very first time, but a reinforced statement - much needed for any intolerant society, could be any country.

There are tons of incidents to quote here in India. And the recent ones are more than sufficient to sample it out,

- Tanzanian women harassed in the streets of Bangalore

- A young protester beaten up on the streets

- Pathankot terror incident
and the countless incidents that aren't at limelight.

Indirect effect
But, this list shouldn't stop on direct cruelties alone. It should be extended to all that has indirect consequences, specially like when 'Democracy' is taken for granted. In fact they have a much larger effect, when committed

--- by the responsible leaders of the country
when they protest citing needless public reasons, diverging from the innumerable socio-economic problems of our country

--- by the law makers
when judgement turns around for the sake of famous rich men

--- by the celebrities
when the society is mislead by their commercially wealthy, but ethically sub-standard messages they convey

and here too the list goes on and on...

Source
A deep dive into the problem, discarding various branching reasons, en routes the truth, and a strong reason called SELFISHNESS. None can deny this, that lies deep inside the minds of the men who are directly and indirectly responsible. Saddening are the consequences of it, we see it everyday.

In Tamil goes a famous saying 'திருடனாய் பார்த்து திருந்தாவிட்டால் திருட்டை ஒழிக்க முடியாது', literally meaning Theft prevails, until the thief realizes and changes himself. And it goes one on one with the President's words - Real Dirt of India lies in our minds not on the streets.

So,
Let's try and lock our SELF in a mind, and start trying to think for others, my Friends. This could be a great place to start removing the Dirt from the minds.

Fun at Work Place - Urban Ladder

It ain't anything new, the multinationals had and have it for a long time. Google is known for this. Many Indian organizations too have it. Walk into the corridors of the IT parks in the outskirts of Bangalore, and you will see these.

(Outskirts for the reason that they have the liberty of bigger offices.)

And now what's encouraging is, start-ups in India too are adopting it, that is - FUN AT WORK PLACE. Really encouraging.

Urban Ladder

the 'e-Wood furnishing interiors business company' was in the news recently, in these lines.

Catch the original version here..
http://tech.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/startups/play-do-yoga-sleep-some-of-the-things-urban-ladder-staff-can-do-in-between-work/50543575

We have an extract to make it crisp.

The list of activities is quite encouraging and interesting,

  • Gym - The most common and much needed activity for almost all IT folks is in
  • Yoga Room - Hearing it for the first time (coz of Modi effect :), we don't know )
  • Play Station - No so common, but these interactive games are sometimes innovation pullers. Could be a reason why Urban Ladder preferred to have.
  • Foosball - Hearing it for the first time for corporate presence. Otherwise seen only in the malls, seems like the employees do some team building here.
  • Pool Table - A cool one to have, though needs some maintenance

Lucky is the 300 plus team that's enjoying the best of the activities. Guess they play hard both at work and fun.

Kudos Urban Ladder team, let your business grow, funds flow, teams glow, and you become one of the best places to work - our heartfelt wishes!

Passion Series 5 - Intriguing personality Baba Ramdev

Proclamations that he cures Cancer and has pills for the Male child is in the air. Gemspirations does not want to get deep inside these contemplation's. Rather talk the best of this yogic personality.

So, what brings him to Gemspirations - 18 to 20 hours of work everyday! Let get inside this.

Physically, the human body is made up of 37.2 Trillion living cells, 270 bones, 670 muscles, tons of bacteria and plenty of elements like Carbon, Calcium, Phosphorus and many biological reactions takes place throughout the day, including respiration, re-production, excretion and so on. Mind blowing numbers aren't they?

And these contributes to a plenty of mental thoughts: Love, Passion, Horror, Anger, Sympathy and you know the list...

If there is one thing, that can reset these and bring back human body under control - that is REST, which comes with the BEST SLEEPING HOURS. And the recommended sleeping hours are 7-8 hours for any normal humans. This is proven by many experts medically and psychologically. Ha! we don't even need these proofs, we know how havoc the day will be, if we don't have a sound sleep, at least a good sleep.

And here is where, Baba Ramdev makes the difference - Is he resting for only 4 hours? Am I joking? Only he can answer us.

Baba Ramdev doing Yogasana

Let's make a sincere analogy,

Proposition: A normal human body requires 7-8 hours of sleep, for all the complex activities it does and thoughts that routes around.

Inverse Proposition: The thoughts that led to Complex reactions of the body, needs 7-8 hours of sleep to settle down

A little refined: The body is confused that it requires 7-8 hours to settle down

Applied logic:
What if the body is not confused too much?
Does it require only little sleep?
Is Baba Ramdev's body little confused?
Does he controls the body and mind that it is not confused so much?
Does Yoga helps him control his body and mind?

questions...questions...questions...

Nevertheless, the bottom line is, it requires practice and determination to control the body. If he as a human can, definitely we can. Take the best out of men - Gemspirations gives its kudos to Baba Ramdev.

Need of the hour phone - Shatterproof Moto X Force

We bend, we run, we drop and there could be plenty other reasons why the phone falls and breaks. And the repair comes at a cost, a ridiculously high cost - sometimes half the price of the phone for changing the display panel alone.

Fed-up and easily becoming a reason to change the phone. The Mind sometimes doesn't accept repairing at this cost. Really, ridiculous isn't it?

Between my kid needs it, to make her sit at once place for lunch and dinner. And she never forget to coat it with idly, dosa and rice, and sometimes throws it at a distance if the video is not what she was looking for. She in-fact is not interested in the 75k LED high density 3D TV to watch her favorite videos. It is our 35k Samsung Galaxy Note that she need. And there is no way to say no.

Thanks for the someone in Motorola who heard us. Thank you so much for making Moto X Force - the unbreakable, at least in the normal falling scenarios. Guaranteed, its not going to break.

'5 layered Shattershield protection' as hyped in the spec seems more reliable, and the YouTube video demos of it falling from decent heights shows only the corners of the phone damaged. Still, the display isn't cracked and the phone is fully functional. Cool stuff, right!

Moto executives are saying, that this was possible after 3 years of efforts in the labs. Seems like worth it.

Grab your phones, it is available online and offline (Croma and Spice outlets). Little pricey though, the 32GB version at 50k and the 64GB version at 54k.

Get the full specs of the phone here.

Shop online at Flipkart at 49,999 INR.
